Taster Day & Summer Project Tasks

You will be spending a double period with the Media Department where you will develop the basic skills needed to complete the Summer independent project.

Session Objectives:
To become familiar with the structure of the BTEC course
To set up your own blog
To learn how cinematography and mise-en-scene creates meaning in film

Over the Summer break you will analyse a short sequence from your choice of a list of films. You will analyse the following:
mise-en-scene
cinematography
editing
sound

The main aim here is to simply identify examples of each and offer suggestings as to why they have been used.

It is expected that when you return in September you will know these technical terms.

On the taster day you will be shown how to tackle this task and how to present your answer.
